Soil culture and hydroponics of Narcissus

There are two ways to cultivate Narcissus

Water culture method and soil culture method. The common method is hydroponics.

Hydroponics means soaking in shallow pots. After accelerated germination, the Narcissus should be placed upright in a shallow basin, and a third of the bulbs should be submerged in water. The bulb can be fixed in the basin with quartz sand and pebbles.

During the day, the Narcissus basin should be placed in a sunny place and moved indoors at night. The water in the basin should be poured out to control excessive growth of leaves. Add fresh water the next morning and be careful not to move the light bulb. When daffodils are just in the pot, they can change water once a day, then every 2-3 days, once a week after bud formation. Narcissus grow well in 10 - 15 degrees environment, can bloom in 45 days, and can continue to bloom for more than a month.

During the cultivation of Narcissus, we should give it enough light, put it in a sunny place during the day, and put it in the sun at night. This will prevent the growth of Narcissus stems and leaves, making them short, thick and strong, with strong green leaves and fragrant flowers. Narcissus generally do not need fertilization. If the conditions permit, the flower will blossom better if a small amount of available phosphorus fertilizer is applied during the flowering process.

Narcissus does not need any flower fertilizer, just water. In order to make Narcissus grow healthily, we should let the balcony bask in the sun during the day. If you want to delay flowering, you can lower the water temperature, or pour out all the water at night and add fresh water the next morning. In addition, if you can't see full buds 10 days before the festival, you can use hot water to induce the flowers. The water temperature should be close to body temperature.

As long as we master the conditions of Narcissus protection, we can "open flowers as we like". Otherwise, even if the leaf does not bloom, it will be delayed.

Soil culture methods are rarely used in the home, that is to say, most of them are hydroponics for Narcissus cultivation.

In the middle and last ten days of October, large bulbs were planted in small porous potted plants in fertile sandy soil, half of which were exposed outside. In order to facilitate drainage, some fine sand should be laid under the scales. Put the flowerpot in the sunny and warm room. It is suitable to be between 4 ℃ and 12 ℃, too low temperature is easy to freeze injury, too high temperature and insufficient light are easy to grow rapidly, the plant is weak, the flowering time is short, and the ornamental value is reduced. If the management meets the requirements of light and temperature, the leaves will be plump, the flowers will bear fruit, the flowers will be big, and the fragrance will last. Narcissus can be used two or three times before flowering.

Because of the limited climate conditions, daffodils cannot reproduce. If there are no diseases and insect pests in Narcissus cultivation, there is no need to spray medicine. Water culture in winter, temperature, light and water supply are the three factors of Narcissus flowering. The growth of Narcissus needs plenty of sunshine; the suitable temperature is 12 ℃ ~ 15 ℃; clean water.

It is best to use rainwater or pond water for water maintenance. If running water is used, it should be stored for one day before use. Another thing is to make sure that the Narcissus are well lit, not less than six hours a day, and pay attention to indoor ventilation. The temperature is kept at 12 - 15 degrees, which is most conducive to the growth of Narcissus. In the north, the weather is dry and Narcissus plants are sprayed with water every day.
